Back in February, multi-platform social media influencer and livestreamer Braden Peters, better known as Clavicular, faced a moment the internet won’t stop talking about.

Clavicular is a controversial influencer famous for his looksmaxing content, livestreams and social media presence. 

In a live stream at Arizona State University, Clavicular stood alongside a larger, muscular figure who has become dubbed online as the “ASU frat leader.” The clip immediately went viral, with viewers describing the moment as a brutal frame-mogging incident. 

High school junior Ethan Henz described his experience watching the event unfold.

“I was completely baffled because it humbled Clav,” Henz said. “I was surprised to see someone of his [high] status be [outshined by the ‘ASU frat leader’ because of his lower status].”

Junior Maria Harris expressed her views on the event.

“I really feel like it was a monumental moment in what they call the ‘looksmaxxing community’,” Harris said. “I think that Clavicular had too much of an ego and put himself out there too much. The ‘ASU frat leader’ had to show him who’s boss and put him in his place.” 

Harris expanded on her emotional reaction to the frame-mogging incident. 

“I had a pretty strong emotional reaction,” Harris added. “I think I felt shocked because Clavicular is a guy who goes to all these [big-name] events with a high ‘mog-rate.’I was surprised when the tables were turned.” 

Looksmaxxing is an online trend and lifestyle where individuals try to maximize their physical attractiveness through fitness, grooming, fashion, or in some cases extreme body modifications.

Another focal point of Clavicular’s content surrounds bone smashing. Bone smashing refers to intentionally applying force to bones, especially in the face or jaw with the intent to reshape them or enhance physical appearance. 

Henz critiqued Clavicular’s online presence.

“I would say that Clavicular is a bit corny… most of his content is posted for shock, or bait value,” Henz said. “I do not support his objectifying views on women nor do I think he’s respectful or funny [for content farming with that].”

“His looksmaxxing is too extreme,” Henz added. “The extent to which he goes with bonesmashing and speaking about the use of meth and ketamine… feeds teenagers a very negative view on appearances [and acts as a negative influence].” 

Junior Sean Holdbrook-Smith shared similar views in his critique of Clavicular. 

“He’s a menace to society. I feel like the whole aspect of mogging is disrespectful, because it is talking about looks and has a negative mental effect on some people,” Holdbrook-Smith said. “[But] I was surprised that he got frame-mogged because I didn’t think there were many people who could have a bigger, better build than him.” 

Holdbrook-Smith added his own personal experience with viewing some of Clavicular’s controversial content.

“[He often uses slurs] and talks about immigrants in a very negative way. I think it makes me sad to see there is so much hate in the world,” Holdbrook-Smith said. “I hate how people talk and act so negatively.” 

Clavicular streams on platforms like Kick and TikTok, where he has amassed millions of followers. 

His brand, however, has been criticized for promoting risky appearance trends, steroid and drug use and extreme self-optimization through sometimes dangerous body modification such as bone smashing. 

Junior Tali Turell commented on some of Clavicular’s risky body-modification publicity stunts. 

“I don’t necessarily like him because I heard that there was a video last year of him injecting his 17-year-old girlfriend with fat dissolving peptides to reshape her jaw,” Turell said. “He isn’t a good person and has taken his fame too far in order to stay relevant.” 

Still, he remains known for pushing boundaries and creating viral moments such as the recent ASU frat leader encounter. 

Clavicular, known for his content on looksmaxxing and self-improvement, had found himself in an unexpected encounter with an ASU student with a larger physical frame than him. This sparked a wave of memes, reaction videos and social media commentary. 

The video went viral on platforms such as TikTok, X and YouTube, with captions emphasizing the physical contrast. Clips were reposted with dramatic captions like “Clavicular got brutally frame-mogged.” 

Fans and critics alike continue to joke about the influencer’s attempt to dominate online versus his inability to dominate in real-world interactions. 

Clavicular’s entire brand is based on dominance, confidence and physical idealization. His being physically “outclassed” on camera highlights how fragile and constructed online identities can be.
