The White and Gold talent show took place on Tuesday, Dec. 9 in the auditorium, with bright lights and a lot of talent displayed throughout the show.

Main office secretary Amy Schulte and Spanish teacher Topher Helm co-directed this year’s show.

Attendance was improved from last year, with many more performers as well.

The first talent was the Gold Standard Dance Crew, with staff members Katie Colabianchi, Casey Demay, Gabby Greer-Jones, Pam Miller and Amy Schulte dancing to “DJ Got Us Falling in Love” by Usher.

The staff looked like they had a fun time as the crowd cheered them on.

The next act was the band SuperHot, with members Ethan Henz, JD Henz, Annika Molloy, William Villanueva, and Wilver Villanueva, covered the song 505 by Arctic Monkeys, following that up with JD.E.D.A.

Sophomore JD Henz, lead vocalist of SuperHot, reflected on how the performance of the song 505 went.

“The audience was amazing—they cheered us on, and that really boosted my confidence,” he said. “I was really nervous because we were the first student act, but the second we walked out and the audience started cheering, I went from nervous to excited.”

Henz revealed that he wanted the audience to know the dedication that went into organizing the SuperHot performance.

“I really wanted them to know how much we prepared, especially SuperHot,” he said. “We practiced almost every day for two weeks straight.”

Some members had even taken on learning new instruments specifically for the show.

“Our drummer Wilver learned drums for the show, and our guitarist William learned guitar specifically for it,” Henz said. “That made practice even more important.”

Senior Tony Zheng also participated in the show, singing the classic Chinese song “Tian Mi Mi” along with seven other Chinese language students.

“We got together after school and practiced four or five times,” he said.

The song is addressed from a woman to her beloved. She recognizes him from her dreams.

“It was very beginner friendly,” Zheng said.
