The annual White & Gold talent show will be held on Tuesday, April 15 at 6:30 p.m.

“This year, White and Gold is going to be even better than last year,” Co-Director Amy Schulte said. “Señor Helm and I are so grateful that it keeps on growing and hasn’t fizzled out.”

Schulte says she is always looking for new talent.

“I want everybody who is willing to participate and showcase their amazing talents to be a part of our show,” she said. “We are still accepting talent.”

As Co-Director, Schulte has incorporated talents that can’t be displayed on stage, such as poetry and art.

“We changed it from a performing arts talent show into an all-encompassing talent show, which we think has worked out pretty nicely,” she said. “Art, poetry… If you don’t want to get up and read your poem, we can [still] display it.”

This year also promises returning performances from seniors and a performance from standout singer Arnav Bokil, whose performance stood out during last year’s show.

“As he sang, everyone in the audience gasped,” Schulte said of his performance last year. “I am so glad to have been part of that moment.”

Bokil explained what motivated him to participate in White & Gold last year.

“I just love to try new things and put myself in awkward situations, so why NOT start now?” he said. “White and Gold lets me do that in a safe environment while just sharing songs I’ve been working on practicing in the shower.”

White & Gold will also feature more unique dance performances this year, emceed by sophomore Maverick Edwards.

“My goal is to make this the best White and Gold that BHS has ever seen,” Edwards said. “I also plan to bring lots of energy and a different experience for spectators.”
