Track Team Takes First in Five Events at Bison Invitational

The track team hosted the Beachwood Bison Invitational on April 19.

In spite of unpredictable weather, the meet was a success with 26 schools in attendance. 

The girls team finished second overall behind Shaker Heights, while the boys finished fifth.

Bison athletes demonstrated an impressive performance across many different events. 

Girls Team Highlights

The girls 4×200 meter relay composed of freshman K’Dyn Harris-Tate, sophomore Marley Readance, freshman Meena Abdul-Basser and freshman Krysten Ginn claimed first place with a time of 1:42.96. 

This performance not only set a new meet record but also beat their time that made them Division 2/3 State Champions for indoor.​

Meena Abdul-Basser continued her winning streak in the 400 meter dash in 57.27 seconds, establishing new school and meet records. She was also able to secure third place in the 200 meter dash, demonstrating her persistence and endurance.​

In the 100 meter dash, Krysten Ginn came in a close first place with a time of 12.81 seconds. 

The girls 4×100 meter relay team Junior Ambyr Paul, senior Sydney Anderson, Krysten Ginn and Marley Readance also locked in the first place spot, finishing in 50.60 seconds and K’Dyn Harris-Tate secured fifth place in the 100 meter dash.

The girls 4×100 meter weight relay team which consisted of freshman Julia Bravo, junior Morgan Jackson, freshman Stormy Johnson and sophomore Jocelyn Owens came in fourth place. 

In field events, Morgan Jackson placed fourth in both shot put and discus, while Jocelyn Owens secured fifth place in shot put. Junior Sasha Kheyfets finished in eighth in the 3200 Meter Run. 

The girls 4×400 meter relay team which consisted of junior Sienna James, junior Alexandra Myers, freshman Marianela Sims and senior Sydney Anderson placed eighth.​ Sienna James also placed eighth in the 800 meter run.​

Boys Team Highlights

Junior Peter Adobamen led the boys team with a first place finish in the 800 meter run, with a time of 2:02.63.

He also contributed to the boys 4×800 meter relay team with senior Henrik Burda, senior Dirck Van Tassel and senior Desmond Thatcher which came in second place.

Additionally, Adobamen was part of the boys 4×400 meter relay team with Burda, Senior Caleb White and sophomore Braylon Moultrie where they finished in fourth place​

Additionally, the boys 4×100 meter weight relay team with senior Raghav Iyer, senior Elijah Kriwinsky, senior Elan Shcherbakov, sophomore Eric Scott and senior Ori Balkan was able to achieve second place and Dirck Van Tassel placed fifth in the 3200 meter run.

Eric Scott also earned fifth place in discus, and Luke Warner matched this placement in long jump.​

The boys 4×200 meter relay team with sophomore Mustafa Elmalik, Braylon Moultrie, senior Levi Turell and sophomore Luke Warner came in sixth.

Senior Jonathon Owens placed sixth in the 300 meter hurdles, and Levi Turell secured sixth place in the 200 meter dash and eighth in the 100 meter dash.

The boys 4×100 meter relay team of sophomore Jose Agudelo, Senior Nick Reese, sophomore Maverick Edwards and Freshman Dylan Paul finished eighth. 

Overall, the Beachwood Bison demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, setting new records and achieving top placements, making the 2025 Invitational a memorable event.
