The swim team placed third at Districts on Valentine’s Day, shattering seven school records (nine for the year) and sending five swimmers to the State Tournament in seven different events.
“We performed very well,” junior Ben Keyerleber said. “If everyone had picked up a little slack we could have placed second.”
Keyerleber feels that the impressive overall results are a good predictor of how the team will do at States.
The following swimmers are headed to the state tournament in Canton on Feb. 20-21:
- Kevin Zhang – 200 Medley Relay, 100 Fly, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay
- Ben Keyerleber – 200 Medley Relay, 500 Free, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay
- Derek Fan – 200 Medley Relay, 100 Fly, 200 Free Relay, 100 Breast
- Colin Elwell – 200 Medley Relay, 200 Free, 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay
- Sam Park – 400 Free Relay
