The boys varsity soccer team has had a remarkable season, and it’s still going.

The team trounced Columbiana 9-1 in the district semifinal on Oct. 24.

“I think it’s really good building off of what we did last year,” center-mid Jonathan Mo said. “The goal is to advance even farther than we did last year– going to the state tournament would be the ultimate goal.”

“It’s been a lot of fun,” he added.

Junior Grant Keilin broke the single season record on Tuesday, scoring his 35th goal of the season.

The record had been in place since 2015, when Shai Yulish scored 33 goals.

As a team, they’ve made the most goals in the history of Beachwood boys soccer, with a total of 96 goals so far.

On top of that, the bison have broken the record for most wins in a season, holding a 15-2 record during the regular season and currently 2-0 in the post season.

On Sept. 7 the team beat Chagrin Falls 3-1 on the Tigers’ home pitch. It was their first time defeating Chagrin since 2006; first time winning at Chagrin since 1999.

They also earned the CVC title with a conference record of 4-0.

Tomorrow the boys advance to the district finals against Kinsman Badger.
