Boys Soccer Team Advances to Regionals
On Wednesday night, the Bison continued their dominating playoff run as they beat Maplewood 4-0. Prior to that, they defeated Kirtland 6-1, a highly anticipated victory as it followed a regular season loss.
Now that Beachwood has their full starting lineup injury free, the team is powering through postseason play. Junior Asaf Roth has made a strong comeback from his hip surgery with a hat trick in the victory over Maplewood.
Each game, the student section grows and grows. The stands at the Twinsburg stadium on Wednesday were filled with excited Beachwood fans.
Senior captain Max Babbush is excited by the student attendance at the games so far.
“We love having a large and loud student section,” he said. “It really does help us to play our best.”
The Bison hope to have an even better turnout at the regional final this Saturday. This game could make history; Beachwood will take on South Range at Ravenna High School, the same team that ended our season last year in the regional final, and at the same location.
Senior captain Bagatur Asaryan is eagerly anticipating Saturday’s game and their anticipated advance further into the playoffs.
“We’re not satisfied,” he told Beachcomber Sports after the win over Maplewood. “We know we have a long way to go, and we’re ready to keep going.”
The regional game is at noon Saturday at Ravenna High School. Students are encouraged to sign up to ride the fan bus and to purchase Bison Soccer “We’re One” t-shirts.
