On Saturday night the Beachwood boys basketball team stormed out to an early lead against the Independence Blue Devils, and never looked back. In a game where every player scored for the Bison, they trampled the visiting Blue Devils 81-49.
Beachwood bounced back from a very poor shooting game last Friday in their loss to Orange. Playing at home, the Bison put the game out of reach early as they led 24-9 at the end of the first quarter. Senior Jared Moss led the charge for the Bison with fifteen points including three 3-pointers. Junior Jordan Richardson was the only other Bison in double figures with eleven points, as every Bison scored in a very balanced attack. The Bison’s high-energy pressure defense forced the Blue Devils into many turnovers that the Bison frequently turned into points.
The Bison are now 1-1(1-0) as the Blue Devils fall to 1-2(0-1). Next up for the Bison are the Blue Devils of Wickliffe High School on Wednesday night.
