Sophomores Cameron Feuerman and Derek Fan are starting a fishing club this year, advised by social studies teacher Dave Baker.

They have both enjoyed fishing their entire lives and look forward to sharing their love of the sport with other students.

“We plan on creating an opportunity for anyone from beginner to experienced to come out and have a good time,” Feuerman said.

The club is still planning their first fishing excursion.

“Our first event will take place in the following months,” Feuerman said

“It is hard to come into the fishing world and learn the ropes, so we want to create a safe environment for our peers to do so,” Feuerman said.

“We are looking forward to having a good time and hopefully have a good turn out,” he added.

The club is slowly climbing in numbers hoping for a good turnout for the first event.

“We so far have 20 members, although we are looking forward to having upwards of 30,” Feuerman said.
