Here’s What We’re Thankful For…

Summers spoke at the Thanksgiving assembly this fall.

Beachwood students and staff found plenty to be thankful for during the Thanksgiving assembly yesterday.

Many gave thanks to peers and teachers.

“I’m thankful to be a part of this amazing student body that supports each other,” Senior Class President Maya Peleg said. “Beachwood wouldn’t be what it is today without all of our amazing teachers.”

“I am thankful to be a part of the Beachwood community,” Librarian Jennifer Flaherty said. “I enjoy coming to work every day and engaging with the talented staff and students at Beachwood High School.”

Social studies teachers Pam Ogilvy and Melissa Buddenhagen, along with English teacher Casey Matthews, presented a humorous speech with a Mean Girls theme.

“I’m thankful for Mr. Lerner’s big hair- it’s full of physics secrets.” Matthews said. “[And] I’m thankful that no one here is a life ruiner.”

“Ohhh, and how much do we love Deegan?” Buddenhagen asked, referring to social studies teacher Greg Deegan.

“I love him like he loves losing sports teams,” Ogilvy said.
