On a snowy Saturday afternoon in Richmond Heights, the Beachwood boys basketball team’s late rally fell just short as Arthur Christian knocked down a three pointer with eight seconds left to lift the Spartans over the Bison 70-68.

The Bison rallied from down seven with just over a minute left to take the lead 68-66 with 17 seconds left in the game. Ellis Cohen knocked down two three-pointers and Jordan Richardson put back an offensive rebound to give the Bison the lead. Cohen finished with 15 points and Richardson had 13. The lead was short lived however, as the Spartans came right back with Jones’s three-pointer and the Bison were unable to answer. Rico Jones finished with 20 points for the Spartans. John Davis had 21 points of his own and Anthony Valentine added 11 for the Bison.

The loss drops the Bison’s record to 2-2(2-1) on the season as the Spartans improve to 4-0(1-0). The Bison will play the Spartans at home later this season to try and split the season
