On Friday night the Beachwood boys’ basketball team hosted the Orange Lions in their season opener. The Bison were unable to overcome a slow start to the second half and fell to the Lions 48-46.
After a sloppy start from both teams, riddled with fouls and turnovers, senior Ellis Cohen was able to knock down a three pointer just before halftime to give the Bison a 19-17 lead. Cohen finished the game with thirteen points. The Bison had to battle to stay in the game most of the second half, until they pulled within three with under a minute left. They were unable to pull any closer until the buzzer when Sophomore guard John Davis, hit a three from long range to make the final score 48-46.
The puts the Bison at 0-1 as they look to improve their record next Saturday against Wickliffe.
