This homecoming weekend there have been changes that make it notably different from previous years. Student Activities Coordinator Craig Alexander explained that the construction work factors into these changes because the usual event locations are fenced off.

“The homecoming parade and bonfire have been canceled, mostly due to a lack of a safe location,” he stated. The school dance will also be held in the cafeteria, as opposed to the north gym. Other dances later in the year will be held in the cafeteria as well.Students are divided in their opinions of these changes.

“Well, I kind of feel that as a senior I got jipped because I feel like this is my last year, and I should be able to enjoy what the school has to offer,” said senior Jade Ferguson.

Other students were more accepting. “There’s not much we can do about it because of the construction,” said junior Sammie Jacobs. “It’s not worth complaining about.”
