Athletic trainer Helen Hayes is one of the many new staff members at Beachwood.

Hayes attends all of the home events for sports at Beachwood and travels with the football team to their away games.

Like the other athletic trainers we have had, Hayes is an employee of University Hospitals.

Hayes has always been interested in sports. She played many sports in high school including golf, basketball, track and softball.

In college, she continued her athletics playing basketball and running track.

Hayes attended the University of Mount Union, where she played basketball, ran track and  graduated with a degree in athletic training.

Hayes comes to Beachwood with a lot of training experience, including five years at Brookside High School and eight years at Bedford.

Hayes enjoys working in the Beachwood community.

“I love all of my coaches and parents and students,” she said.

When she isn’t attending sporting events, tending to injuries or helping Beachwood athletes, Hayes enjoys playing co-ed softball in the summer.
