Renovation affects us all in different ways.
Some of us shrug our shoulders and deal with it, others becoming increasingly upset to the point that it controls us.
Then some of us accept change and find the benefits it brings.
For tech teacher Craig Alexander, such effects are both pleasing and rewarding. Alexander has worked in the district long enough to have experienced leaks and creaks. In his view, the renovation only leaks good benefits instead of water out of the ceiling.
He was relocated from his double-room across the hall to a smaller room with a closet.
“The biggest effect for my classes has been my inability to see what my students are doing in a physical sense.” Previously, Alexander sat in such a way that he could see every single computer in his room. But now, he’s in the front. “I can still watch them using software,” Alexander said. However, this is his only grievance with the whole ordeal.
“At the end of the day, there will be a new school I’ll be able to walk into, and that’s really cool,” Alexander said.
