Cocky’s Bagels is a hip sit down bagel shop in the Flats of Cleveland. It is located right by Oyster bar and Jade.
I heard of Cocky’s from a Tiiktok by @thingsivebeeneating, which reviews Cleveland restaurant reviews. They said Cocky’s is one of their favorite local bagel spots because they make all their bagels in house and have a vegan menu, so I wanted to give it a try.
The restaurant offers a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment.
There is greenery everywhere as well as beautiful florals and a vibrant light up sign saying ‘Cocky’s.’
There is both inside and outside seating overlooking the water, which is always a plus.
I was not sure what to expect when it came to food, but was extremely impressed. I may even say it was the best bagel I have ever had.
I went with my friend, and it was the perfect place to have lunch and just sit and chat. I ordered the big daddy, which was piled with bacon, egg, cheese, cream cheese, hash browns and a side of Cocky’s sauce.
The sandwich normally comes with sausage, but I am not a fan, so I had them hold it. My friend ordered a simple sausage egg and cheese bagel, and she was also quite impressed.
My sandwich tasted like they put thought into every bite. The bagel itself was an everything bagel, and I could have eaten this on its own. It was perfectly seasoned, perfectly crispy on the outside and light and airy on the inside.
The hash browns were by far the best part. I wasn’t sure how they would be inside a sandwich, but it was truly a 10/10, so crispy, absolutely exquisite.
I really had no notes and was truly impressed, because I am picky with my bagels. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Cocky’s, because most bagel places are very much grab and go, whereas Cocky’s feels like a more elevated experience.
From great photo opportunities, to special cocktails for adults, to a very impressive menu, I really believe Cocky’s is worth a try.
Coming from someone who loves bagels and has lived in Cleveland my whole life, I can say with confidence that Cocky’s serves the best bagels in the city. The quality of products is much fresher and thought out then other places I have dined, and the overall experience was more welcoming than just grab and go.
Touching back on the atmosphere, which I feel is just as important as the food, I also give it a 10/10. Our server was extremely kind and patient, which is always a plus when trying a new place.
They did have a few tables busy, but it was not at all crowded, and they did an amazing job of attending to everyone.
After we left we noticed that it directly overlooks the waterfront of the flats, and it was a perfect sunny day to walk around.
We sat by the water and enjoyed the sun after a delicious meal. All and all I had a wonderful experience at Cocky’s and would one thousand percent go back in the future, and will continue to recommend to people going forward… truly a hidden gem.
